- Comments: Home Tour 1995 write-up: Built circa on property belonging to the Waters mansion (which still stands in the middle of the block facing College Ave.), 47 Union SE is the perfect showcase for the current owner's collection of antique holiday decorations. Difficult to say exact date of construction but probably in 1894. Water was connected to this site in that year although sewer was not connected until 1904.

- Charles Perkins – 1911 – Vice President of the Perkins Lumber Co.
- Eber Irwin – 1915 – Vice President of the Steel Furniture Co and later President and GM of the Grand Rapids Furniture Co. and Secretary of the Steel Furniture Co. He and his wife Lila lived in the house until at least 1945.
