- Description: 1996 Tour
- Comments: This Queen Anne house was built about 1885 for William Gilbert, a clerk at the Grand Rapids Gas Light Company. IT does no appear that Mr. Gilbert ever lived in the house but rather that his family was developing the block. The house shows the characteristic Queen Anne features - - irregularities in massing like the bay windows, wall insets and projections that provide random changes to the horizontal plane of the wall. This irregularity is continued by the use of secondary gables and gabled dormers. The original porch has been removed.
