2017 National Night Out photos

Thank you to all the friends and neighbors who celebrated with us at Pleasant Park on August 1st. We had a bigger-than-ever turnout and loved seeing so many neighbors and KIDS enjoying the evening in the park. This is the third year having this event in the park and this young park looks absolutely amazing with mature plants and all of the gardening efforts from the Pleasant Park Tenders.

Local restaurants, G.R.P.D. Pizza and Log Cabin Baking Co., were in the park selling food, HHA provided ice cream and popsicles and very generous neighbor Tony Davis was manning the grill and giving away hotdogs to all comers. We’d like to give a BIG thank you to sponsors Martha’s Vineyard, Country Fresh dairy, A Pleasant Dog, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Cornerstone Church, and SpartanNash for their help with this event. We could not have done it without you!

Also big thanks to GRPD, GRFD and city leaders in attendance making this a true community and crime prevention event. Thanks also to board members and neighbors Mark Hutchison, Lisa Baars, Suzanne DeHaan, Todd Hoort, Mary McCarthy-Fuller, Jim Payne, Char Kruzich, Wesley Beck and Erin Shupe. Last but certainly not least, Delia Venema from South Hill who painted face after face, all night long – the kids loved it!

Our next neighborhood social event will be the Holiday Potluck / Annual Meeting on Monday, December 11th. We hope to see you all there!
